Symptoms of Dehydration: 2 Yellow Alerts
There are many dehydration symptoms, but the top 2 are so common, you might ignore them on a regular basis.
You really don't want to ignore them; here's why.
1 -- The yellow alert. You've been busy doing your thing, and you find your urine is a darker yellow.
Does this describe you?
Maybe it's the case more often than not.
2 -- Feeling thirsty is a symptom of dehydration. Drink regularly before you feel thirsty.
Because you're already dehydrated. Your body is short on water and you may start feeling tired.
If you want more energy and vitality, start with your drinking habits.
Are you drinking your water today?
Have you been spreading it out so you are drinking all day?
How about if I asked if it's water you're drinking? Not Coke or coffee or even Gatorade (which has salt), just water?
Some sports drinks contain the electrolytes you need, but also contain a lot of sodium.
Drink water and plenty of it.
Stay away from the tap water as it has way too much chlorine.
The way you tell if you are drinking enough is that your urine is light yellow or clear.
How much water is recommended?
Half your body weight in ounces is the established recommendation.
So a person that weighs 150 pounds would drink 75 fluid ounces per day.
And why spread it out?
When it's especially hot or you're active, you will need even more. You must replenish water as the body uses it to feel great.
Drink before and during a workout or athletic activity to prevent dehydration.
Another reason is the body's own delicate balance is t maintains at all times.
When you are dry, then drink a lot at once, you're actually flooding the cells. Not much better for you than being too dry. Your body works more.
Another way you work yourself too much is by drinking during a meal.
Too much energy is used that is needed for other things.
Why is that?
The liquid in the meal dilutes the gastric juices that digest the food.
Digestion uses the most energy of any of the bodily processes, you don't want to make it harder.
When you drink throughout the day, it's not difficult to eat food without the drinks.
