Earth4Energy Solar Power Will Save You Loads of Money

Home Improvement No Comments »

by Amanda Isbitt

These days, there's a lot of debate (and not all of it well informed or accurate) about the pros and cons of renewable energy sources. Interestingly enough, the types of green energy most commonly discussed are solar and wind power. Hydroelectric and geothermal seem to be overlooked. Why is this?

Not everybody can use hydroelectric-you have to be near a swift-flowing body of water. Furthermore, both hydroelectric generators and geothermal systems (use the earth's heat to provide heat) are too large and expensive for the average household to build.

In contrast, panels of solar cells and wind turbines are comparatively small, and are inexpensive enough for individual households to invest in. More importantly, they can be used anywhere in the world. Sure, some locations are better than others-the Southwestern USA gets more sun and the Great Plains gets stronger, steadier winds-but the truth is the sun shines and the wind blows no matter where you are.

So why should households invest in solar and wind power? Well, the many reasons fall into three rough categories: Financial, Practical, and Ethical. Let's examine these below.

Financial: In these days of credit crunches and recessions, the financial benefits of solar and wind energy are the most powerful arguments. Installing solar cells or a household wind turbine can reduce your bill by 80%, or even eliminate it completely. If you generate enough electricity, power companies may be able to pay you to divert the surplus energy onto the local power grid. The money saved on powering a household can counterbalance the soaring cost of food and gas, allowing households to leave their savings untouched and spend it on more important things.

Practical: There are many practical reasons for households to install solar cells and wind turbines. First of all, they are a good investment. Although wind and solar power generators are expensive to install (at least $3000, and prices only rise from there), they are renewable energy sources. The money saved every month on power will pay for initial investment over the next few years. Furthermore, installing alternative power systems increased the property value of a home.

Ethical: Over half of all electricity is generated in power plants by burning coal, which releases greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere and is causing global warming. The increasing demand for a shrinking supply of oil is driving the price steadily up and playing havoc with the global economy. Installing solar and wind power generators enables any household to contribute to solving these problems. It is better for the environment, decreases demand on limited fossil fuels, and created a better future for our children.

Finally, let's clear up a few myths about alternative energy. Opponents of alternative energy would have us believe that as soon as the sun goes behind a cloud or the wind stills, our homes would be blacked out. This is not true for a few reasons: batteries and the weather. First, power generated by solar cells and wind turbines is plugged directly into electrical sockets of the home. The home runs off powerful batteries, which are in turn recharged by solar and wind generators. Secondly, storm clouds (that block sunlight from solar cells) are created by the collision of two air masses with different temperatures (high pressure and low pressure air cells).

The collision of these two air cells also creates wind. In other words, if there are storm clouds blocking out the sun, you can guarantee they will be accompanied by strong winds. On the other hand, still, listless air occurs when one air cell dominates the area-in which case there will be little or no cloud cover, and the solar cells can drink up the sunlight. Consequently, installing a combination of both solar cells and wind turbines is the best option for powering a household with alternate energy generators.

Myrtle Beach has an incredible variety of golf courses to offer. There are low country courses and links. Here you can golf in many different courses offering different terrain in one single golfing vacation. There are also courses on bluffs which overlook the Intra Coastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. These courses offer the additional challenge of ocean winds; sure to thrill golfers who like a challenging course. The Grand Strand is the home of 9 of Golf Digest's top 100 public courses in America - Tidewater, Heritage, Barefoot Fazio, Barefoot Love, Caledonia, Tigers Eye, True Blue, Rivers Edge and Myrtle Beach Kings North. Myrtle Beach offers courses perfect for newcomers to the game as well as the most experienced golfers. There are so many courses on the Grand Strand that you can start off with a morning tee time and finish the day in an entirely different setting! The tough part is deciding which course to play first! Keep in mind that many of the courses are booked solid during the spring season, so book your Myrtle Beach golf vacation early to ensure a tee time.

A lot of the golf courses on Myrtle Beach are associated with resorts and condo developments. Myrtle Beach golf packages include luxurious accommodations which give you breathtaking ocean views and of course, a front row seat for the green as well as guaranteed tee times! Your Myrtle Beach golf package will also include GPS and automated scoring-enabled golf cart rental. Any equipment you need can easily be obtained from the many golf superstores and pro shops or even custom made here in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach golf courses are available for any time of year - however, if you come between March and May or in October, you may have a hard time securing a tee time unless you have confirmed your vacation plans well ahead of time.

While there are some golf courses at Myrtle Beach that offer very secluded locations, many are in the heart of all of the action. The great thing is that the way the golf courses are structured, even those just yards away from the beach traffic are stunningly quiet and tranquil and you will forget that you are just steps away from some of the busiest streets on the Grand Strand.

Hydroderm & Paraben. Are You Putting Your Skin At Risk? CLICK!

Health & Fitness No Comments »

by Grace Angel

Welcome to the first in a series of articles by NightTimeMoisturizers.com. Today we decided to do profile of a very popular skincare product called Hydroderm.

Sadly, hydroderm contains a compound on our blacklist: Paraben.

At NightTimeMoisturizers.com, we have written about suspected and dangerous ingredients in moisturizers and night creams. One of these suspected dangerous ingredients is a chemical called paragon. It is used as a preservative to extend the shelf life of skincare products.

It has no other helpful benefit. In fact, there have been studies that show a correlation between paraben in cancer and excessive skin aging. However, these studies are inconclusive.

Please note that I wrote correlation is not causation. If it had been proved conclusively that Paraben causes skin cancer or accelerated skin aging it would be taken off the market immediately. But can you take that chance? Your skin too precious, and valuable to take such a chance. Especially when there are many products that contain little if any paraben.

Hydroderm and hundreds of other namebrand products use paraben. But because of the potential dangers of this compound and the fact that hydrant contains the we can't recommend this product. However, when you visit our site now you can find many fantastic products that contain little if any paraben.

Part-1 LOSE FAT WITH “The Popular Atkins Diet

Health & Fitness No Comments »

by Florentina Ryan

Part-1 Atkins Diet- Proteins and fats are eaten liberally in every phase, but carbohydrates are restricted to different degrees. In the first two weeks ( called the Induction phase) dieters are restricted to 20 grams of carbohydrate per day, or roughly the amount in 3 cups of salad vegetables. Protein is needed by the body to supply the building blocks of all our muscles, organs, hormones, enzymes, etc. Less muscle tissue further contributes to a slowed metabolism, and reduced fat-burning.

The Atkins diet seeks to eliminate refined carbohydrates. In particular, these include sugar, flour, and high-fructose corn syrups. Additionally, most people end up regaining lost weight on severely restricted diets because of difficulty adhering to the restrictions long-term. Don't hold your breath on the long term weight loss effectiveness of severely restricted diets.Additionally, total weight-loss correlated with improvements in blood pressure; however, effects on fasting glucose and total cholesterol levels were variable. After 6 months, mean reductions in body weight were: Rosemary Conley 9.9%; Weight Watchers 9.0%; Atkins' 8.9%; and Slim-Fast 6.8% (differences not significant)

Carbohydrates intake should not be more then 20 grams every day. You can have meat, cheese and other dairy products, however in very limited quantities. Keep away from carbohydrate-containing foods like, fruit, many vegetables, bread, cereals, rice, potatoes, pasta, cakes, biscuits, sugar, milk and yogurt .The ongoing weight-loss phase which is the next phase allows around 40g of carbohydrate daily. Carbohydrates are changed into glucose and are used before fats in our bodies. According to Atkins, if we lower the amount of carbohydrate consumption or intake our body will burn our fat as fuel, thereby weight loss happens.

Carbohydrates provide or supply fuel for your body and during this phase you expect to feel very tired and fatigued. This is the most difficult and most uncomfortable part of the diet according to the dieters. Carbohydrates are long chains of sugars, which the body breaks down into sugar. Atkins totally believes that when people restrict the carbohydrates available or present, they cause the body to use its reserves of fat as fuel.Carbohydrate intake is limited to 20 net grams daily. The everyday diet includes liberal amounts of all types of meats, fish, eggs, low carbohydrate vegetables, and fruits, breads, pasta, grains, but starchy vegetables are prevented in the diet.

Carbohydrates and fat supply the fuel that produces that energy. Your body metabolizes (turns into energy) first. Carbohydrates are limited to approximately 20 grams per day in the first 2 weeks on the Atkins diet.A weekly 5 gram gain is followed until you establish your critical carbohydrate level for maintenance. This means you have to keep away from eating mostly pasta, potatoes, breads, waffles and pancakes.

Dieters are advised to exclude all carbohydrate for the first two weeks prior to moving on to the second section, where a few carbohydrates are reintroduced. After reaching their target weight goal, dieters are then encourage to sustain the diet.

Remedies For Cold Sores - Must Do Tips For Your Cold Sore

Diseases No Comments »

by Denny Bodoh

Want some great remedies for cold sores? By reading this quick article, you will discover several very strong remedies for cold sores.

Remedies for cold sores are available from many companies. These over-the-counter treatments usually provide quick comfort for painful sores. But they seldom shorten the duration of your cold sore.

But, there are remedies for cold sores that will shorten the cold sore duration AND provide blessed relief. Many of these are cheap or free and often found in your cupboard.

Try them. You will find these home remedies for cold sores often work much better than the over-the-counter products. And the cold sore virus will not develop immunity to them.

Below you will find some of the best remedies for cold sores now in use worldwide. And don't hesitate to combine several, as they will usually work better that way.

VITAMINS AND MINERALS. A good multi-vitamin is a must for everyone, whether a cold sore victim or not. This provides the energy your body needs to fight and heal cold sores.

All the nutrients will help in the prevention and healing of cold sores, but certain ones really stand out.

Calcium helps maintain the healthy alkalinity of your body. Fact is, if you do not provide it, your body will steal it from your bones.

Disease, including cold sore outbreaks, seldom occurs when the body is in the alkaline zone.

B12 seems to be quite important also. Scientists have found people with an active cold sore to be deficient in vitamin B12. All the B vitamins together will help to reduce the effects of stress - your number one cold sore trigger.

Zinc is a great healing mineral. It is excellent for stopping and healing a cold sore. The normal daily requirement is 15 milligrams. If your vitamin does not provide this amount, find another brand.

Along with the B vitamins, vitamin C is extremely important for prevention and healing of cold sores. 500 milligrams of vitamin C is the very minimum you should get from your daily vitamin program.

BLACK OR HERBAL TEA. Tea contains some remarkable healing and anti-virus properties. You will benefit by drinking and putting it on the sore.

Using ice on a forming cold sore is great, but a frozen tea bag works much better.

Let a couple bags soak until thoroughly wet, then put in the freezer. Holding directly on the cold sore area provides instant relief and will slow or stop virus activity.

When your cold sore opens, it begins the healing stage. Now you want to use a hot tea bag, not a frozen one. Heat speeds healing, cold slows it down.

Caution - do not use the microwave to heat up a tea bag. It greatly reduces the healing benefits. Heat the water first, then immerse the bag. Or you can use the stove-top.

TEA TREE OIL. This oil comes from the bark of a tree commonly found in Australia. It has a kerosene type smell and taste.

Tea tree oil is one of the most useful remedies for cold sores. It actually penetrates the skin so you can begin applying it at the first sign of a cold sore.

Once your cold sore blossoms, this oil will help keep the area sterile and prevent virus spreading. When it scabs over, keep applying it. It will aid in keeping the scab from painful cracking.

HONEY. One of the little known and appreciated remedies for cold sores, honey can be of great help to the cold sore victim. No germ or fungus can survive in honey. Honey found in the pyramids was still safe to eat. It does not spoil.

Honey used as a wound dressing not only stops the virus activity, but also offers some amazing healing benefits. You can apply from the first tingle until the final healing with great success.

Try these remedies for cold sores. You will have excellent success with these - as others have. There are many others that I would love to share with you, but I am out of space here.

Treating your oral herpes cold sore does not have to be difficult or expensive. You will save money and enjoy blessed relief with the simple, above mentioned home remedies for cold sores.

Found a Winning Business Opportunity? 10 Questions to Ask

Home Based Business No Comments »

by Jemma Rivera

There are a multitude of different business opportunities available to people in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. In fact, there are so many that it can be hard to decide on one which is right for your needs. If you want to get involved in a business, you need to keep in mind that there are risks involved. You need to find opportunities where the benefits outweigh the risks.

So how do you know that the risk level is acceptable? Here are ten points that you need to consider before getting involved in any business.

1. Does this business offer a product or service which is useful and of high quality, or just something which has been put together simply to make money?

2. Is there demand for this product? Do you see other people needing this product? If you wouldn't consider buying it, other people might not either.

3. Is the market sector experiencing growth? The "green" sector is an example of a currently booming market. If market sector is dwindling, you should probably steer clear.

4. Is the company ethical? Do they have a well established reputation or did they just pop up from nowhere overnight? The last thing you want to do is to get tangled up with someone who will take your money and run.

5. Is comprehensive training available? A company requires knowledgeable, trained staff to increase sales and in turn make profits. A company that is willing to take the time to train staff to achieve success is taking a step in the right direction. If there isn't really any training to speak of, it will require a lot more 'trial and error' on your part in order to succeed.

6. Is there ongoing support offered to staff? Does the company only help until they have your money? You need to find a company which provides their staff with the support they need to be successful - stay far away from companies which do not provide this support.

7. Does this company have goals which align with your own? You will be much more successful in a business opportunity which you have a personal interest in.

8. Is the company accessible? Do they actually have a brick-and-mortar office that you can visit or call to talk to someone? Do they just have an answering machine and never call you back? Do they just have a website? You want to be able to actually talk to someone at the business.

9. Are other people actually having success with this business model? You want to talk to as many business owners as possible before you decide to invest. Don't just read the testimonials the company shows you. Actually talk to real business owners.

10. Do you have a gut feeling about the company one way or the other? If you have a bad feeling about this company, listen to your instincts and stay away from this opportunity.

If you have determination and a little bit of luck, you can make a success of this business venture. When considering any new business, run through this checklist first. There are plenty of opportunities out there - including one which is perfect for you.
